Check out some of our Client Testimonials:
#2 on Netflix!
"I was feeling frustrated and stuck, but now I am unbelievably more confident, with a clear brand identity and a better understanding of the type of work I want seek out. I have turned some heads of some key players in the industry who are now considering me more seriously for future projects. Robbie is an excellent career coach. He has helped me find my voice as a composer and he actually cares about his clients. I highly recommend Robbie."
-Sean James Boyer
NOTE: Shortly after finishing the coaching program, Sean quit his day job with zero days notice when he was hired as the composer for a major US Netflix television series, “My Little Pony: Make Your Mark”. Congratulations Sean!
EMMY Nominated!
I had a great experience working with Robbie over several months. It was really helpful to run things by him and get his opinion or brainstorm ideas. This included anything from business strategies, re-working my website, mixing tips, and more. It was also really helpful to talk through creative blocks or other difficulties a lot of composers come across. I really appreciated him introducing a “gratitude journal” into my daily habits as well as a “5 year Plan” spreadsheet to refocus and visualize my goals; these helped me frame my thinking in a more productive, positive light. I would definitely recommend getting coaching from Robbie!
-Lora Bidner
NOTE: after completing her coaching program, Lora signed with a well-known composer management firm and was hired to co-score a major TV series – which landed her an EMMY NOMINATION for Best Original Score!
$80K in New Scoring Work!
Since coaching, I’ve had a lot of successful client outreach, which I’ve approached with confidence and a mindset of “giving” rather than “begging”. I have more work lined up than I can possibly do alone. More clearly defining my identity as a composer has fortunately helped me find appropriate people to outsource to and collaborate with. I’ve also largely overcome my fears around social media, and am actively excited as I set up my accounts and plan my posting schedule for the new year. I was deeply skeptical about the idea of coaching, however, Robbie’s pedigree, our initial chats and my knowledge that I needed to take drastic action to fix my mindset made me decide to take the plunge. I’m incredibly glad that I did. I’d come to resent my job and wasn’t enjoying the (amazing) projects I was on. Now, my relationship with my work is far healthier, I feel more focused and I feel excited about the future.
-Deon Van Heerden
NOTE:Â in 1 year since coaching, Deon pulled in $80K USD in new scoring work from global clients - from South Africa!
So long, day job!
Before I started working with Robbie, I felt like I was doomed to doing student films for another year and getting paid little to nothing. Now, I have 10 indie film scoring projects ranging from shorts, series, and feature films/documentaries lined up over the course of the next 12 months. I was able to quit my day job sooner than I expected and now I compose and teach full-time.  My career right now is exactly where I want to be as an indie film composer. I feel confident and excited for the journey ahead.Â
-Cheska Navarro
NOTE: Cheska quit her full-time day job just five years into her scoring journey, has a large network of directors excited to work with her, and has now become a leading expert in social media marketing for composers!
Scoring Career LAUNCHED!
I was feeling a bit lost & unsure of how to begin, like coming out of school and not knowing what sort of professional posture/practice/prep I needed to move out into the world as a professional composer. After working with Robbie, I feel like I have focus, a grounded sensibility what the landscape will be like, what my strategy & posture should be, and how to move myself forward. I also feel so happy that things like a professional looking website are in place (with the knowledge/insight into how to keep it relevant/updated), and a demo reel made, and also how to set goals & go after them.
-Michelle Lorimer
NOTE: Michelle jumped into a scoring career after raising teenagers and working as an English teacher. Â Since completing the coaching program, Michelle was hired to co-score a CBC documentary with noted composer Bruce Fowler, and was accepted into highly competitive mentorship programs with SOCAN and the Screen Composers Guild of Canada, and completed her second feature documentary
BAFTA-nominated AAA Game!
Robbie is a wizard. Before starting this program, I had many doubts and uncertainty about my skill level and how to find new work. There is some uncanny sorcery at play when Robbie identifies the exact mindsets hindering this progress. The mindset exercises alone were a masterclass in combatting imposter syndrome. I now feel like there are solid mental and practical structures and systems I can rely on to help me move forward into new and exciting music projects.
-Kyle Hartman
NOTE: Kyle’s newfound confidence landed him additional writing work on the Spiderman 2 video game alongside John Paesano - which earned a BAFTA nomination!
